Group B strep (streptococcus) is a type of bacteria that can cause serious illness and death in newborns. Until recent prevention efforts, hundreds of babies died from group B strep every year. If you are pregnant and test positive for group B strep, doctors can give you an antibiotic during labor that prevents the bacteria from spreading to your baby. This type of bacteria can also cause illness in adults, especially the elderly, but it is most common in newborns. Click “here” to learn more about group B strep

Service at Oakhurst Clinic exceeded my expectations. The people here were very nice and friendly. The intake specialists and the nurses were helpful and polite. The doctor appeared to be very knowledgeable and was able to explain in layman terms my diagnosis. I feel very comfortable at this clinic and plan to return in the future.”
